Aether was not built as another chat shell. It was engineered as a local memory core (Qdrant + SQLite) with an MCP Bridge layer that handles routing, permissions, and context sanitization before external model calls.

The core Aether runtime remains open source and fully self-hostable. For teams that want production convenience, Aether Pro provides managed cloud infrastructure while preserving local-first control boundaries.
